Policy Council is a decision-making group that gives parents a meaningful role in deciding the direction of the program. They approve or disapprove many of the Head Start decisions such as program plans, budgets and hiring of staff.
Each Head Start/Early Head Start site, as well as the Early Head Start Home Based program has an elected parent representative and up to two alternates. The Council also elects Community partners to attend. The Policy Council meets monthly.
Pasco County Early Childhood Programs, Head Start/Early Head Start Policy Council typically meets on the 2nd or 3rd Thursday of every month. The meetings are currently being held through Zoom conference and in-person.
