The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a no-cost, short term counseling service for all School Board retirees, employees, insurable dependents, and spouses.
ALL School Board Employees/Retirees are eligible for EAP services.
This includes all insurable dependents (spouse or child) of our employees.
Employees may be full or part-time, active, or on leave.
Up to (5) counseling sessions are available per issue, at no cost, for everyone that is eligible for the program. These (5) sessions are intended for short-term counseling assistance.
If more specialized, intensive services are needed, the individual will be connected with the appropriate professional as available through the behavioral health insurance plan or other resources. Employees enrolled in the District's group medical plan needing longer-term solutions for more serious behavioral health or substance abuse issues, can seamlessly transition to the services provided by New Directions which is part of the Florida Blue network.
Counseling sessions are available in private offices throughout Pasco County. Services are also offered in Hernando, Hillsborough, Pinellas and surrounding counties.
Counselors are licensed through the Department of Health as licensed psychologists, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors and clinical social workers. Some counselors have additional credentials in substance abuse/addiction and trauma.
All locations are totally separate from any school or district campus.
