All School Board Employees, their Spouse, and Insurable Dependents up to the age of 26.

Employees may be Full or Part-Time, Active or on Leave.

All School Board Retirees.

Up to five (5) counseling sessions are available per issue, at no cost, for each employee, retiree, and insurable dependent (spouse or child) of an employee.

If more services are needed, the person may transitition to the appropriate professional as available through the behavioral health insurance plan or other resources. If enrolled in the District’s group medical plan, it is a seamless transition to the services provided by New Directions (a part of the Florida Blue network).

At this time, text message therapy and face to face counseling sessions cannot be blended. Members will need to choose the medium that works best for them. For text message therapy, five days per week of texting equals approximately one EAP session.

Counseling services are available in private offices in Dade City, Land O’ Lakes, Lutz, New Port Richey, Palm Harbor, Port Richey, Safety Harbor, Spring Hill, Tampa, Tarpon Springs, Wesley Chapel, and Zephyrhills. All locations are totally separate from any school or district campus.

All EAP providers are individual professionals who schedule appointments according to their office hours. Most providers offer some appointments during the after school hours and/or on weekends.

All counselors are licensed through the Department of Health.

  • Licensed Clinical Psychologists - LCP or PhD
  • Marriage and Family Therapists - LMFT
  • Mental Health Counselors - LMHC
  • Clinical Social Workers - LCSW
  • Substance Abuse Professionals or Certified Addictions Professional - CAP
  • Clinical Trauma Professional - CCTP

A licensed psychologist is trained in therapeutic techniques, giving psychological tests like IQ tests or personality tests, but cannot prescribe medication. A medical doctor/nurse practitioner/licensed psychiatrist can prescribe medication, if needed.

Currently, we do not have any licensed medical/personnel on our panel.

The employee is entitled to a 30-minute phone or face to face appointment with an attorney regarding any issue that is not work related in matter. The employee will have the option of securing a participating attorney at a 25% discount off the hourly or flat rate fee.
