- Classes are free for anyone who lives in Florida and is over 18 years of age.
- Each course has eight classes offered live over two months. The classes are held once a week on the same day and time. Each class is 2 hours long.
- Once you complete the class sign-up form, you will receive an email with the link to join your class. When it’s time for your class to begin, click on the link to join. You will use the same link every week to join your class.
- You will need to download Zoom.
- The classes will help you practice English while learning about life in the USA and services that are available for people who need assistance. We use the award-winning We Speak NYC curriculum, which includes videos that are watched and discussed in class. The videos focus on important topics and model language that you can use in your everyday life.
- The classes are taught at an intermediate English level. The teachers will be speaking in English. This course is not for beginners who are just starting to learn English.

Helping Your Child Read, Write, and Communicate
There are many resources to help parents assist their children at home with reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. The following resources are available in Spanish and English and can be adapted for other languages as well. We encourage parents to read, sing, write, and engage their children at home both in their native language as well as the second language in which they may be learning. Remember to encourage your child every day!
