Middle School Accelerated Coursework

Earning high school credits in middle school gives students a strong head start and helps them feel confident and prepared for high school. These classes allow students to explore interests, build confidence, and develop solid study habits. Beginning now also opens the door to more choices later, including fun electives, advanced coursework, and even college‑credit opportunities.

Gifted Education

Pasco County Schools is proud to offer a variety of gifted services for our K-12 students. These services range from Consult and Inclusion to our Centers for Gifted Studies. Pasco County Schools promotes gifted awareness by supporting gifted identification, educating all stake-holders on the needs of gifted students, providing advocacy for rigorous coursework and resiliency support for the gifted, and seeking opportunities and supports for gifted students and families.

Cambridge

The Cambridge Lower Secondary program utilizes an international curriculum that affords the opportunity for acceleration and enrichment.  Cambridge gives schools a flexible framework for developing skills and understanding in English, mathematics, science, and Cambridge Global Perspectives. These skills prepare students for the college level coursework they will be exposed to as they progress to high school.

International Baccalaureate

The IB Middle Years Programme provides a globally recognized framework that emphasizes inquiry-based learning and interdisciplinary connections. MYP offers schools a flexible structure for developing conceptual understanding and skills across eight subject groups, including Language and Literature, Sciences, Mathematics, Individuals and Societies, and the Arts. Through approaches to learning and the IB learner profile, students build critical thinking, communication, and self-management skills that prepare them for the rigor of the IB Diploma Programme and future academic challenges.
