Adult Education in Pasco County Schools offers a range of programs designed to support lifelong learning and personal development for adults in our community. Our programs provide opportunities for adults to earn their high school diploma or equivalent, improve their English language skills, and gain essential job readiness and vocational training. 

Our courses cater to diverse needs, including adult basic education (ABE), GED preparation, Adult High School, 24/7 program, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). We also focus on career development, offering skills training that aligns with local job market demands through our Integrated Education Training (IET) Career Pathway. 

Through flexible scheduling and supportive learning environments, Pasco County Schools aims to empower adults, regardless of age to achieve their educational and career goals, fostering greater self-sufficiency and community engagement.

Our Objectives

Pasco County Schools Adult Education programs are designed to offer all adults, regardless of age experience opportunities to:

  • participate in a continuing education program that meets individual needs and abilities
  • acquire basic and fundamental academic skills
  • pursue a standard high school diploma or GED
  • acquire job training
  • enhance one’s economic efficiency
  • acquire an awareness and appreciation of the arts
  • grow in knowledge, understanding and critical thinking

Eligibility

Adult Education applicants must be withdrawn from high school and 16 years of age or older to enroll in Adult Education classes.  

Adult education programs are available to individuals:

  • 16 years or older
  • Are not enrolled or required to be enrolled in secondary school
  • Do not have a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Want to learn to speak, read, and write the English language

Registration

Preregistration is required for some courses. Interested persons should call the center where you wish to take the classes for an appointment with a school counselor. Registration is on a first-come basis. 

Any student with a disability that requires reasonable accommodation(s) to participate in an adult education class(es) must request such accommodation(s) before enrollment. 

**To enroll in ABE/GED or ESOL, students must take a CASAS placement exam
