JOB GOAL

Responsible for understanding business change needs, assessing the business impact of those changes, capturing, analyzing, and documenting requirements and supporting the communication and delivery of information with relevant stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Analyze and document current work flow systems and procedures in order to make recommendations that improve efficiencies and outputs for all stakeholders.
  2. Coordinate with end users to identify potential computer application areas of strength and weakness to ensure proper functionality and ease of use.
  3. Write, test, and de-bug complex programs by analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts, studying systems capacities, and creating specifications that meet the needs of end users and stakeholders.
  4. Analyze existing systems, review equipment requirements/configurations and make recommendation to upgrade when results indicate replacement is necessary.
  5. Prepare, coordinate, and oversee systems implementation to ensure it operates within designated parameters.
  6. Provide technical assistance to staff by writing and maintaining user guides, help desk access, and hands on training sessions.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Broad knowledge of computer systems, including programming and systems operations
  • Knowledge of the interchanges and interfaces between systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree or equivalent (2 years of college coursework)
  • Successful completion of an accredited training program in data processing.
  • Significant data processing experience including computer programming and systems experience.
  • OR
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as Light Work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.
