JOB GOAL

Responsible for serving as a critical advisor and problem-solver within Pasco County Schools, directly supporting the Superintendent and other senior District leaders in navigating relationships with members of the Pasco community, which includes handling sensitive, community-facing initiatives, while advancing the District’s strategic goals. This role involves ensuring smooth communication between District leadership and key community stakeholders and requires a proactive leader who can manage multiple priorities and act as a key liaison between the District and external partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Assist and advise the Superintendent in managing key stakeholder relations, external partnerships, and urgent matters throughout the District.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with local leaders, ensuring clear communication on critical issues impacting the District.
  3. Act as a liaison with vendors, addressing concerns and ensuring smooth collaboration between external partners and the District.
  4. Lead the resolution of high-priority issues, working closely with District leaders to address emerging challenges in real-time.
  5. Support the Superintendent in developing swift solutions to unanticipated problems, ensuring the District remains agile and responsive.
  6. Provide regular updates and recommendations to District leadership on project progress, potential risks, and necessary adjustments.
  7. Ensure open communication between District leadership and community stakeholders.
  8. Prepare and present reports, briefings, and updates for the Superintendent and senior leadership on community affairs while maintaining confidentiality and retention as required.
  9. Assist in coordinating and planning the operation of community outreach and the implementation of activities that build partnerships and foster stronger community relations.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with parents, teachers, community organizations, and government agencies by creating effective communication strategies for the purpose of increasing student achievement.
  11. Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholder groups as directed.
  12. Provide training and strategies in effective communication and community engagement to District and school stakeholders.
  13. Assist in the coordination of various recognition programs for students, employees, schools, and community members/groups and in the planning of special events for recognition and awards for the District and provide the Board and administrative staff with this information as needed.
  14. Serve on internal and external committees and community groups to establish positive networks and expand outreach efforts focused on improving student achievement and community involvement.
  15. Collaborate with the Pasco Education Foundation, Inc. to support schools through community support activities and projects.
  16. Attend training sessions, conferences, and workshops to keep up to date on best practices in the field, current developments, and laws, rules, and policies that impact community engagement.
  17. Serve as a District representative at emergency shelters as determined by the Superintendent and provide leadership to ensure a secure work environment during an emergency or crisis.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrate strong project management skills, political savvy, and a passion for public service
  • Comprehensive knowledge of school board policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to communicate complex data to executive leadership
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments in an efficient manner and within established timeframes
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based technologies and platforms
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Five years’ experience in project management or community engagement within an educational or organization setting
  • OR
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as light work.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
