JOB GOAL

Responsible for planning, designing, and implementing district-wide support for district applications and resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Supervise, train, and delegate work to appropriate staff; and provide input regarding evaluations and employment of personnel.
  2. Collaborate in the evaluation, selection and implementation of educational technology materials and software to ensure we are meeting current standards.
  3. Design, plan, and coordinate high-quality educational technology training and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff.
  4. Promote and model effective use of technology with the intention of increasing teacher and staff comfort and proficiency.
  5. Support or lead the design of high-quality educational technology training throughout the district, communicate the plan, monitor the quality, and execute any follow-up support needed to ensure that outcomes and goals are met.
  6. Communicate, collaborate, and act as a liaison between OTIS, school-based personnel and other departments who need technology advice, consultation, or project-based assistance to provide support with district supported applications to ensure that outcomes and goals are met. 
  7. Oversee the professional learning provided by OTIS staff. 
  8. Maintain a current knowledge of instructional practices and trends in educational technology through participation in educational technology learning opportunities. 
  9. Use a variety of data to identify educational technology trends for teachers, students, and staff. 
  10. Work with OTIS and appropriate school staff to support the distribution and assimilation of new hardware devices to ensure that devices are being utilized and staff feel supported with the transition.
  11. Support the use of Pasco County School’s Learning Management System for all professional development. 
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to cultivate relationships within and between departments related to educational technology to determine type, scope, and purpose of analyses
  • Ability to conduct data analysis that surfaces new ideas and insights for the organization
  • Understanding of best practices in effective professional development to support education technology
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus
  • Ability to effectively engage in the problem-solving process
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Information Technology, or related field
  • Two years’ experience using digital resources to engage learners
  • Experience with virtual and hybrid learning environments
  • Two years’ experience with management and support of online learning management platforms

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Prior experience as a professional teacher

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Direct supervision of assigned personnel. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; training employees; evaluating performance; and interviewing, testing, hiring, and assignment of personnel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and / or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as Light Work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, and hear; stand and walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

General office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
