JOB GOAL

Responsible for providing support in planning, designing, and implementing support systems and procedures for District applications and resources, in accordance with District policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Troubleshoot and coordinate the effective resolution of end user requests for support or service for requests that have been escalated.
  2. Anticipate stakeholder needs and proactively create resources for end users.
  3. Provide training and support to the Technology Help Desk team and other applicable departmental teams as needed.
  4. Analyze support requests to determine areas of improvement for training; develop documentation and processes to ensure proactive solutions.
  5. Provide support to end users with a focus on District-supported educational technology applications.
  6. Promote and model effective use of technology to increase teacher and staff comfort and proficiency.
  7. Assist department staff in planning, designing, and implementing high-quality educational technology training and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff.
  8. Oversee District Technology Help Desk systems and ensure processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
  9. Collaborate with staff to use a variety of data to identify educational technology trends for teachers, students, and staff.
  10. Ensure confidentiality and discretion are maintained, as required by federal, state, and District policies.
  11. Assist with large-scale implementation of new technologies.
  12. Maintain compliance with School Board policy at all times.
  13. Maintain current knowledge of instructional practices and trends in educational technology through participation in educational technology learning opportunities.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge and understanding of best practices in effective professional development to support education technology
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and computer/electronic device hardware and software applications
  • Ability to work as a team to accomplish shared goals and objectives
  • Ability to effectively engage in the problem-solving process
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based technologies and platforms
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments in an efficient manner and within established timeframes
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all stakeholders

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Two years’ experience utilizing educational technology applications
  • Two years’ experience with virtual and hybrid learning environments
  • Two years’ experience developing and implementing a professional development plan
  • OR
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • None

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Information Technology, Education, or related field
  • Prior experience as a professional teacher
  • Prior experience as an instructional coach
  • Four years' experience of writing procedures, providing trainings, and overseeing implementation of new procedures and processes

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Direct supervision of assigned personnel. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; training employees; evaluating performance; and interviewing, testing, hiring, and assignment of personnel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as light work.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, and hear; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

  • General office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
