JOB GOAL

Responsible for providing routine clerical support for the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1.  Perform clerical and record keeping tasks, including filing, copying, answering phones, and sorting mail.
  2.  Collect, input, and review records related to district programs, and compile simple reports.
  3.  Assist with the compilation and verification of data, such as personnel data, free and reduced meal applications, web-based meal   prepayment system, etc.
  4.  Provide customer service to school-level administrators and managers as needed.
  5.  Investigate, document, and respond to routine complaints, and clarify policies and procedures.
  6.  Create and maintain a filing system for various program documents.
  7.  Assist with problem resolution and strategies in functional area.
  8.  Post to various journals and ledgers electronically.
  9.  Prepare invoices and P-cards for payment.
  10.  Maintain project ledgers and spreadsheets.
  11.  May assist in assignment of FNS Relief Workers to school sites based upon school needs.
  12.  Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and other financial software programs.
  • Exhibit effective financial and mathematical computation skills.
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in written and oral form, including electronic media.
  • Organize, prioritize, manage and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

None

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clerical experience.
  • Experience in bookkeeping.
  • Associates degree in business or related field.

None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk and hear; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors: The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

  • General office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
