JOB GOAL

Responsible for supporting classroom teachers and administration by focusing work directly on improving instruction as the primary avenue to improve student outcomes; and for supporting professional development of skills in critical areas such as a positive classroom climate, implementation of instructional and intervention strategies for all students including English Language Learners and students with disabilities, support of classroom management, analysis of student work, differentiation of instruction, and other areas as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Fulfill instructional coaching duties approximately 75% of the time, including coaching cycles, conducting observations and feedback, co-planning instruction and/or intervention, working with the school’s three multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) teams, modeling instruction with high quality instructional materials, and working with data analysis.
  2. Develop and implement quality, research-based professional development programs related to the curriculu­m at the school level for faculty and staff.
  3. Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to apprentice and mentor teachers to aid in developing their capacity to serve as a model of high-impact instruction.
  4. Model, observe, and provide feedback to teachers through the utilization of an instructional coaching cycle, which includes conducting classroom observations to help identify strengths and areas of growth related to the instructional material and program implementation.
  5. Lead and guide professional learning communities through data analysis that results in the selection, implementation, and evaluation of research-based instructional strategies.
  6. Work collaboratively with the site principal, assistant principal(s), faculty, and staff to address site-based professional learning needs.
  7. Provide support and training in lesson and program planning.
  8. Provide a schedule of professional learning and coaching support activities using documentation with industry-specific tools, such as the Coaching Implementation Tracker.
  9. Assist in identifying and developing future leaders.
  10. Coordinate, organize, and promote events and activities that align with the instructional material.
  11. Participate in school-related activities, duties, and test coordination as required.
  12. Attend staff meetings and participate in conferences, trainings, and professional development opportunities to enhance job performance, maintain knowledge of content, instructional strategies, and coaching skills.
  13. Maintain professional licensure and certifications as required.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge of state standards and/or benchmarks and current high impact, evidence-based instructional practices
  • Ability to effectively develop presentations and deliver information to adult learners
  • Ability to effectively engage in the problem-solving process
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Ability to collect, summarize, and graph data related to student achievement and behavior
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments in an efficient manner and within established timeframes
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based technologies and platforms
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders

Instructional Trainer Coach (Humanities) must possess:

  • Knowledge of content and curricular resources specific to English Language Arts and Social Studies

Instructional Trainer Coach (STEM) must possess:

  • Knowledge of content and curricular resources specific to Math, Science, and Computer Science

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, or related field
  • Four years’ experience teaching
  • Two years of Highly Effective or Effective Value-Added Model (VAM) ratings
  • Two years’ experience in a leadership or mentoring role
  • OR
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Florida Educator's Certificate in assigned subject area or grade level

Instructional Trainer Coach (Humanities) must possess:

  • Reading Endorsement or Reading Certification at the Elementary Level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, or related field
  • Industry certification
  • Successful completion of the Pasco County Clinical Educator training

Instructional Trainer Coach (Humanities) are preferred to possess:

  • Reading Endorsement or Reading Certification at the Secondary Level
  • Coaching Literacy Endorsement

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and / or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as Light Work.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.
