JOB GOAL

Responsible for supporting classroom teachers and administration by focusing work on improving instruction as the primary avenue to improve student outcomes; for supporting professional development of skills in critical areas; and for the extraction, coordination, analysis, and design of data to support instructional practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Fulfill instructional coaching duties, including coaching cycles, conducting observations and feedback, co-planning instruction and/or intervention, working with the school’s three multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) teams, modeling instruction with high quality instructional materials, completing instructional walkthroughs, and working with data analysis.
  2. Develop and implement quality, research-based professional development programs related to the curriculum at the school level for faculty and staff.
  3. Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to apprentice and mentor teachers to aid in developing their capacity to serve as a model of high-impact instruction.
  4. Model, observe, and provide feedback to teachers through the utilization of an instructional coaching cycle, which includes conducting classroom walkthroughs and virtual live lessons to help identify strengths and areas of growth related to the instructional material and program implementation.
  5. Lead and guide professional learning communities through data analysis that results in the selection, implementation, and evaluation of research-based instructional strategies.
  6. Design and develop virtual courses from concept to completion, working with subject matter experts, curriculum vendors, and instructional specialists that are aligned with the approved state standards and most current accessibility guidelines.
  7. Leverage learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools, and other technology platforms to build and deliver robust asynchronous virtual courses.
  8. Work collaboratively with the site principal, assistant principal(s), faculty, and staff to address site-based professional learning needs.
  9. Provide support and training in lesson and program planning.
  10. Provide a schedule of professional learning and coaching support activities using documentation with industry-specific tools, such as the Coaching Implementation Tracker.
  11. Assist in identifying and developing future leaders.
  12. Identify, analyze, and interpret data trends in complex data sets.
  13. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and data analytics that allow stakeholders to evaluate critical operational functions.
  14. Receive, evaluate, and process data requests from internal and external entities while ensuring that it is presented in a manner that effectively communicates the information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  15. Analyze student and staff data for completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness based on the needs of the school and leadership.
  16. Blend data from multiple systems to prepare visual models for management review.
  17. Coordinate with leadership to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and value of data.
  18. Present information collected to leadership as requested.
  19. Collaborate with team members and leadership to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data collection strategies.
  20. Establish and maintain security and confidentiality protocols for all data maintained and warehoused by District and Pasco eSchool.
  21. Participate in school-related activities, duties, and test coordination as required.
  22. Keep abreast of emerging trends and best practices in online learning, instructional design, and educational technology, incorporating innovative approaches into course design and development.
  23. Attend staff meetings and participate in conferences, trainings, and professional development opportunities to enhance job performance, maintain knowledge of content, instructional strategies, and coaching skills.
  24. Maintain professional licensure and certifications as required.
  25. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge of state standards and/or benchmarks and current high impact, evidence-based instructional practices
  • Ability to effectively develop presentations and deliver information to adult learners
  • Knowledge of database design, structure, and warehousing
  • Ability to collect, summarize, and graph data related to student achievement and behavior
  • Ability to use data visualization software to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments in an efficient manner and within established timeframes
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based technologies and platforms
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus
  • Ability to effectively engage in the problem-solving process

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, or related field
  • Four years’ experience teaching
  • Four years’ experience in data analysis
  • Two years of Highly Effective or Effective Value-Added Model (VAM) ratings
  • Two years’ experience in a leadership or mentoring role
  • OR
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Florida Educator's Certificate in assigned subject area or grade level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, Data Analytics, or related field
  • Successful completion of the Pasco County Clinical Educator training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as Light Work.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.
