JOB GOAL

Responsible for building capacity and providing support to schools and programs related to the departmental goals of Accountability, Research, and Measurement (ARM) while ensuring that all policies and procedures are implemented to meet federal, state, and local regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Collaborate with District office staff and school administrators to establish, implement, and manage programs as they relate to the departmental goals of ARM.
  2. Collect, analyze, and interpret data and prepare written reports, charts, tables, and graphs using computer applications as required.
  3. Make recommendations and implement changes to maximize program resources available to schools.
  4. Ensure that all work and related documentation meets the standards of the department and the project.
  5. Provide training to staff and stakeholders on interpretation of data, both orally and in writing.
  6. Assist in the design and development of data collection instruments.
  7. Interpret technical aspects of testing and evaluation procedures, findings, and conclusions.
  8. Submit annual reports on the status of programs, in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  9. Assist with the preparation of staffing model recommendations to support programs and services relating to assessments, research, and measurement.
  10. Assist with the preparation and recommendation of annual budgets related to the program.
  11. Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner.
  12. Develop and maintain working relationships with community agencies.
  13. Participate in school advisory, business, and community groups and activities; serve on committees and councils; and develop community partnerships to support the District’s vision, mission, goals, and strategic priorities.
  14. Serve as a District representative at emergency shelters as determined by the Superintendent and provide leadership to ensure a secure work environment during an emergency or crisis situation.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of assessment systems and current educational trends
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data, journals, articles, research studies, Florida statutes, state Board rules, and school board policies, and use data-driven decision-making to implement effective programs
  • Knowledge of related federal, state, and local rules, regulations, statutes, and policies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus
  • Ability to effectively engage in the problem-solving process
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based technologies and platforms
  • Operating knowledge of statistical software
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments in an efficient manner and within established timeframes
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, Educational Measurement and Research, or related field
  • OR
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • None

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, Educational Measurement and Research, or related field
  • Three years’ experience in a school environment in an instructional or administrative role
  • Three years’ experience in the administration of assessment programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and / or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as Light Work.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, and hear; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

  • General office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, telephones, etc.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
