JOB GOAL

Responsible for providing advanced clerical and administrative support for specific functions of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) with an emphasis on nutrition/wellness, finance/operations, team development, marketing/grants or administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepare comprehensive reports for project stakeholders.
  2. Develop, modify, implement and maintain systems to monitor and track various FNS operations.
  3. Manage orders, pricing, substitution approvals, and deliveries with approved vendors for all school sites.
  4. Develop accountability policies and monitor school compliance for FNS programs, including all vending operations.
  5. Initiate special projects and programs related to sales and marketing to assist schools in achieving established benchmarks.
  6. Manage and update website information and links, including mobile applications, menus, nutrient analysis, and the employee professional development site.
  7. Research program options, prepare product specifications, and solicit telephone/written price quotations.
  8. Initiate workflow related to projects.
  9. Maintain various program journals, ledgers and spreadsheets.
  10. Review and audit FNS school site invoices and P-cards for payment.
  11. Forecast, order, and manage inventory of USDA Foods with manufacturers, distributors, and the state agency.
  12. Assist with monthly reconciliation of USDA Foods, which includes verification with school inventory, vendor reports, and the state agency.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and other financial software programs.
  • Exhibit effective financial and mathematical computation skills.
  • Ability to initiate and anticipate data, reporting, and project needs.
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in written and oral form, including electronic media.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and carry out duties efficiently and within established time-frames.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of clerical experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • None

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bookkeeping experience.
  • Associate degree in Business or related field.

  • None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors: The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
