JOB GOAL

Responsible for building capacity and providing supports for school communities that are consistent with and supportive of the District’s vision, mission, and strategic goals. This includes aligning curriculum, assessment, and instruction efforts to policies and procedures implemented to meet federal, state, and local regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Support content area with all areas of curriculum, assessment and instruction to ensure quality services are provided to meet students’ needs.
  2. Collaborate with district office staff and school administrators to implement innovative curriculum, assessment and instructional programs.
  3. Promote the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to district goals and state standards.
  4. Collect, analyze and interpret student achievement data to maximize curriculum, assessment, and instructional resources available to schools.
  5. Ensure a link between professional development and a change in practice with ongoing monitoring, including observation and feedback.
  6. Assist with the development of a comprehensive plan for continued program improvement, including program review, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation in K-12 instructional programs.
  7. Assist with development and implementation of professional development for standards-based instruction.
  8. Assist with preparing and monitoring all required reports for federal and state reporting.
  9. Ensure alignment of policies and procedures and provide technical assistance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and statutes that apply to teaching and learning, including Board policies.
  10. Assist with monitoring and interpreting laws, regulations, and policies, as well as trends and best practices related to teaching and learning.
  11. Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner.
  12. Develop and maintain working relationships with community agencies.
  13. Participate in school advisory, business, and community groups and activities; serve on committees and councils; and develop community partnerships to support the District’s vision, mission, goals and strategic priorities.
  14. Respond quickly to emergency situations and serve as a district representative at emergency shelters as determined by the Superintendent.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of current trends and research in teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of issues related to teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of related federal, state, and local rules, regulations, statutes, and policies
  • Ability to analyze data and use data-driven decision making to implement effective programs
  • Ability to read and interpret journals, articles, research studies, Florida statutes, state Board rules, and school Board policies
  • Knowledge of assessment systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Knowledge of and experience with personal computers and programs, such as word processing programs, spreadsheets, and databases.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Successful experience with curriculum, assessment and instruction in the learning environment
  • Successful instructional experience including coaching and mentoring adults
  • Experience evaluating, designing and facilitating professional development for adults
  • Experience leading professional learning communities

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-graduate degree in an educational field from an accredited institution
  • Experience with project implementation and management
  • Training or experience in administration and/or management of instructional programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as light work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk and hear; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
