JOB GOAL

Responsible for building capacity and providing support for school communities that are consistent with and supportive of the District’s vision, mission, and strategic goals. This includes supporting curriculum, assessments, and instruction and aligning to policies and procedures that are implemented to meet federal, state, and local regulations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.

Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction

  1. Support content area with all areas of curriculum, assessment, and instruction to ensure quality services are provided to meet student’s needs.
  2. Collaborate with District office staff and school administrators to implement innovative curriculum, assessment, and instructional programs.
  3. Assist with the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to District goals and state standards.
  4. Collect, analyze, and interpret student achievement data to maximize curriculum, assessment, and instructional resources available to schools.
  5. Promote successful practices throughout the District by identifying and acknowledging those using innovative instructional strategies and digital tools and sharing those practices with others.
  6. Ensure a link between professional development  and a change in practice with ongoing monitoring, including observation and feedback.
  7. Assist with the development of a comprehensive plan for continued program improvement including program review, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation in K-12 instructional programs.
  8. Assist with preparation and monitoring all required reports for federal and state reporting.
  9. Assist with monitoring and interpreting laws, regulations, and policies, as well as trends and best practices related to teaching and learning.
  10. Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner.
  11. Participate in school advisory, business, and community groups and activities; serve on committees and councils; and develop community partnerships to support the District’s vision, mission, goals, and strategic priorities.
  12. Respond quickly to emergency situations and serve as a District representative at emergency shelters as determined by the Superintendent.
  13. Perform other duties as required.

District, State and Federal Programs

  1. Assist with coordination in the areas of research, planning/development, implementation, training, supervision, collaboration and support, problem solving and budgeting relative to district and state programs, and the consolidated federal entitlement and competitive grants.
  2. Assist with the alignment of district, state, federal and competitive grants and programs with the district's instructional
priorities.
  1. Collect, analyze, interpret, and evaluate student achievement data in programs receiving federal, state, and local grant and guaranteed funding to provide programmatic guidance and resources to schools.
  2. Assist school administrators in identifying effective research-based strategies and assist with professional development activities and data-based decision-making aimed at improving student achievement and closing the achievement gap.
  3. Assist with the development of a comprehensive plan for continued program improvement including program review, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation in K-12 district, state and federal programs, in the assigned area(s).
  4. Assist with preparation and monitoring all required reports for federal and state reporting.
  5. Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner.
  6. Participate in school advisory, business, and community groups and activities; serve on committees and councils; and develop community partnerships to support the District's vision, mission, goals and strategic priorities.

Educational and Innovative Options

  1. Assist with coordination in the areas of educational options and innovative programs to ensure quality services are provided to meet student’s needs.
  2. Assist with the alignment of innovative curriculum, assessment, and instructional programs and the process for educational options with the District’s  instructional priorities.
  3. Collect, analyze, and interpret student achievement data to maximize enriched and innovative student learning opportunities available to schools.
  4. Assist school administrators in identifying effective research-based strategies and assist with professional development activities and data-based decision-making aimed at enriching and enhancing student learning opportunities.
  5. Assist wit publicizing and promoting programs through the development and distribution of written materials and presentations to school groups.
  6. Assist with the development of a comprehensive plan for continued program improvement including program review, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation in enriched and innovative programs.
  7. Assist with preparation and monitoring of all required reports for federal and state reporting.
  8. Respond to  inquires or concerns in a timely manner.
  9. Develop and maintain working relationships with community agencies.
  10. Participate in school advisory, business, and community groups and activities; serve on committees and councils; and develop community partnerships to support the District’s vision, mission, goals, and strategic priorities.
  11. Respond quickly to  emergency situations and serve as a District representative at emergency shelters as determined by the Superintendent.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of current trends and research in teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of issues related to teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of related federal, state, and local rules, regulations, statues, and policies
  • Ability to analyze data and use data-driven decision making to implement effective programs
  • Ability to read and interpret journals, articles, research studies, Florida statutes, state Board rules, and school Board policies
  • Knowledge of assessment systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Knowledge of and experience with personal computers and programs, such as word processing programs, spreadsheets, and databases

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Successful experience with curriculum, assessment, and instruction in the learning environment
  • Experience evaluating, designing, and facilitating professional development for adults
  • Experience leading professional learning communities 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Florida Educator Certificate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-graduate degree in an educational field from an accredited institution
  • Experience with project implementation and management
  • Training or experience in administration and/or management of instructional programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negotiable amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
