JOB GOAL

This employee is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program for students in the summer program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.

Planning:

  1. Planning the summer classroom program so that it is consistent with the program as designed in the Summer School Manual.
  2. Working in coordination with other teachers in planning and developing the summer program.

Programming:

  1. Preparing educational plans for each group of students based on assessed needs in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the summer school program.
  2. Using appropriate assessment techniques pertinent to instructional areas to assess student progress.
  3. Preparing lesson plans that reflect continued progress for each group or class assigned.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  1. Ensuring that each student in the program has necessary evaluation records in his/her permanent folder.
  2. Supplying reports to school personnel and to parents of students as necessary and requested.
  3. Other responsibilities as directed by his/her immediate supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Reappointed for employment in Pasco County for the next school year.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Florida Educator's Certificate in area of requested teaching assignment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • As outlined in the summer school manual for the appropriate level (i.e., elementary, middle, high school).

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
