Hope Scholarship

Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, a student enrolled in a Florida public school in kindergarten through grade 12 who has been subjected to an incident of battery; harassment; hazing; bullying; kidnapping; physical attack; robbery; sexual offenses, harassment, assault, or battery; threat or intimidation; or fighting at school the opportunity to transfer to another public school with capacity or enroll in an approved private school under the Hope Scholarship.

To exercise this School Choice option, the current school of enrollment must receive the report of the incident in order to complete an investigation and to issue the Hope Scholarship Notification form.

Private School and Pasco County Charter School Choice:

After the parent/guardian receives the Hope Scholarship Notification form provided by the current school of enrollment, requests must be made directly to the private school or Charter school of choice.

Pasco County Public School Choice:

After the parent/guardian receives the Hope Scholarship Notification form provided by the current school of enrollment, the parent/guardian must submit a School Choice application requesting another public school of choice with available capacity. To submit this application, send an email to pascopathways@pasco.k12-lets-talk.com requesting the Hardship Application and include the Hope Scholarship Notification form with the request. 

Transportation:

Transportation is not provided for students who school choice into another school.

School Choice Determinations:

While the school district makes every effort to accommodate school choice requests, many of the schools are critically overcrowded (at or above 90% capacity). We monitor our schools for both school-wide and class size capacity. The availablity of some schools may change during the school year, without notice. The capacity/frozen list is posted here.

Out of Districts Students:

Out of District students may not displace Pasco County residents.
