Minimum Candidate Requirements:
- Presently employed with Pasco County Schools
- Possess a Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate
- Minimum of 3 years highly effective or effective teaching experience
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills, qualities, and experiences
- Presently enrolled in or previously completed an Educational Leadership Program (Masters Degree) If presently enrolled in a program, expected completion date can be no later than May 2022
- Applicants must be in an instructional bargaining position
- Applicants who are already eligible for AP positions can apply to this internship
- Applicants may not applyif any of the following have occured:
- Formal Level Discipline within the past five years
- Violation of Board Policy 3124.01. Reasonable Suspicion Drug Testing Program
- A finding by the Office of Professional Practices Services (FLDOE)
Program Guidelines:
- Interns will serve a full year administrative internship from August 2023- May 2024
- First placement- August 2023 through December 2023 (host sites TBD)
- Second placement- January 2024 through May 2024 (host site TBD, but will likely be a different school/ level)
- Selected administrative interns will be placed on a one-year leave, which will secure their instructional position at their current assigned cost center and the following will apply:
- Salary paid commensurate to their instructional salary (does not include stipends that you may receive)
- Commitment to a one-year assignment (not eligible to apply for AP positions during this time)
- Required to attend all trainings for Assistant Principals
- Upon successful completion of the administrative internship, candidates will be considered “eligible” to apply for AP positions
