Fred K. Marchman Technical College (FKMTC) is proud to announce the launch of the Phoenix RISE program, an innovative postsecondary transition program designed for adults with intellectual disabilities.
RISE, which stands for Remarkable Individuals Seeking Employment, will provide students with hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to earn industry certifications across various vocational disciplines. The program is set to begin in the fall of 2025.
Phoenix RISE is proudly supported by the Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities (FCSUA) through the University of Central Florida (UCF). This partnership will empower students to gain the skills and certifications needed for successful employment and greater independence.
With the launch of Phoenix RISE, FKMTC joins over 30 technical colleges, state colleges, and universities across Florida, all united by a shared goal: to increase independent living, inclusive and experiential postsecondary education, and employment opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities.
