PASCO COUNTY, FL - In line with the Pasco County School's commitment to expanding literacy among our students, we are thrilled to announce an exciting reading event at James Marlowe Elementary School.
This evening, six therapy dogs and their dedicated handlers will visit James Marlowe Elementary School in New Port Richey to read to approximately 100 enthusiastic students. This unique initiative exemplifies our belief in innovative approaches to enhance the reading experience and bolster literacy rates. This event also aligns with our district-wide "15 Million Minute R.A.C.E. for Reading" program, which champions the goal of logging 15 million minutes of reading this school year. We encourage all students and parents to join us in this effort by reading for 30 minutes every night. "We always explore diverse ways to excite our students about reading. Integrating therapy dogs and our 15 million minute RACE for reading program are just a few examples of Pasco County School's dedication to fostering a love for literature and achieving our ambitious reading goals," stated Pasco County Schools Superintendent Kurt Browning. We invite the media to join us in celebrating this remarkable event. Let's work hand in paw to ensure our students reach their fullest potential! Event Details
