Pasco Schools Presents an Online Veterans Day Tribute

This post was created on 11/11/2021.

Land O’ Lakes, FL – (November 11, 2021) – Pasco County Schools will celebrate Veterans Day this year with a pre-recorded program featuring inspiring speeches and stirring musical presentations by Pasco student groups.

Students in classrooms throughout the school district will watch the video as part of the district’s annual Veterans Day tribute.

Superintendent of Schools Kurt Browning and Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley have key speaking roles in the online program. The keynote address is provided by Assistant Superintendent Dr. Kim Moore, a 20-year Army veteran.

Rather than having a day off, as some school districts do, “we decided years ago that we would have a ‘day on’ – providing an inspirational and educational program honoring veterans,” said Superintendent Browning. “We consider this to be a day for our students to reflect on the sacrifices that veterans have made.

“Our school district appreciates the importance of recognizing military service, and this virtual ceremony will feature – among other things – photos of our own staff members who served in the armed forces. I’m proud to say that we have many veterans in our ranks.”

The program will be available at 9 a.m. today.
