September is Workforce Development Month

This post was created on 09/23/2024.

Workforce Development Month is a time to celebrate the progress made towards strengthening workforce education opportunities for Florida students. Pasco County Schools CTAE (Career, Technical, and Adult Education) provides training programs and career pathways which include state licenses, industry certifications, and digital tools certificates.

With September being Workforce Development Month, Pasco County Schools CTAE would like to restate our vision and commitment that Pasco CTAE students will be workforce-ready and equipped with the essential skills to secure meaningful employment and pursue post-secondary pathways after graduation.

Our career pathways offer a series of structured and aligned educational experiences designed to equip students with occupational exposure and the skill set necessary to succeed in those occupations. Targeted job industries are divided into 17 state and nationally recognized career clusters with 13 clusters represented in Pasco County schools. Within each cluster are specific career and technical programs which are aligned to current labor market demand. Students are given the opportunity to increase employment marketability through industry certifications and robust work-based learning experiences.

Our mission to support these collaborative, innovative learning environments and prepare students for careers in this diverse and changing world is our top priority. This commitment to Career and Technical Education will help support our school district’s overall mission of ensuring all students succeed in college, career, and life.
