Sunlake High School’s Varsity Winterguard team is the only one in Pasco County – and one of just 25 high schools nationwide – to achieve Scholastic World Class status, the highest level of competition for the artform.
This season, the 14 talented members of the Sunlake varsity team, known as Sunlake World, are competing in the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit (FFCC) and Winterguard International (WGI). Also notable, Sunlake’s JV Winterguard will join Sunlake World in competition at the FFCC State Championships in Daytona Beach.
Meanwhile, the 34-member Sunlake Indoor Percussion Ensemble (SLIPE) debuted its season on February 1, in the Scholastic A Class. As one of Florida’s most competitive teams, SLIPE will travel to Dayton, OH, for its culminating performance at the WGI Percussion World Championships in April.
