Hudson High School
Throughout my four years in high school, I have had the opportunity to frequently take advanced courses when given the opportunity. The ambition to take these courses has led me to learn discipline and responsibility that I will continue to apply as I pursue higher education and my career goals. Although these courses are rigorous and I don’t always succeed, I make an effort to show improvement.
I have become a better leader through participation in my school’s volleyball program. It has taught me to use failure as an opportunity to enhance my learning. I never thought that my teammates would see me as a role model. But I realized the impact I can have on others during my senior season. Having the ability to share different experiences with my teammates has allowed me to become a selfless, compassionate, and resilient leader.
The desire to help others has always felt like second nature. I am aware of how my actions affect those around me. Therefore, I do my part by volunteering in my community. Joining my school’s community service club allowed me to participate in game nights at Atria Senior Living. I also spent part of my summer helping my administrators prepare for school this year. I will continue to assist my community through these unprecedented times.
My past mistakes have forced me to reflect on my decisions. These times of reflection have made me a more genuine person. Four years ago I was not as confident, mindful, or selfless as I am today. I still work to better myself and those around me by staying connected to my teammates, coaches, and administration. Overall, I am thankful and proud of my personal progression throughout a variety of experiences at Hudson High School.
