Scholarship:

At Sunlake, I have always strived to challenge myself academically. By graduation, I will have taken 16 AP courses and earned the Capstone diploma distinction. I am proud that I’ve maintained a strong GPA, but my proudest accomplishment is earning a 5 on the AP Psych exam, a class that gave me a profound appreciation for the power of the mind.

Leadership:

I have been on the board for drama club since my sophomore year, and I held the responsibility of advertising manager for two of those years. Last year my peers elected me president of the club, making me the representative for our troupe in the District 14 thespian community. I also proudly serve as the Poetry Club co-president, leading bi-weekly workshops with fellow writers.

Service:

My favorite service experience has been volunteering at Oakstead Elementary. As I served cocoa to the attendees of the Carols and Canes event, the sound of the chorus singing reminded me of my earliest performance opportunities. I was filled with gratitude for all the teachers who instill a love of the arts and music in our community.

Citizenship:

Since freshman year, I have participated in a variety of activities (homecoming skit, theater, academic clubs), which meant collaborating with teams of people with different perspectives, ideas, and styles. I have always aimed to treat all with respect and open mindedness to ensure that everyone knows they are valued.
