Wiregrass Ranch High School
Tanmay scored a near-perfect 1560 on his SAT. Tanmay also scored a near-perfect 1480 on his PSAT, which enabled him to be a National Merit Semifinalist- the only one from WRHS. Both scores are in the top 1% nationwide. Tanmay has a weighted 4.49 GPA and 4.0 unweighted GPA. Tanmay has straight A’s throughout high school despite taking 9 highly advanced, college-level classes. Tanmay has passed every AP exam he has taken.
Tanmay is the president of Wiregrass Ranch’s Key Club, one of the largest clubs in the school with 115 members. Key Club is a volunteer-based service club that aims to improve the Tampa Bay area through service. Tanmay is also Wiregrass’s school ambassador for Relay for Life, an annual cancer walk that he helps manage at the executive level. In the last two years managing the event, he has seen $223,000 raised for cancer research.
Tanmay has accumulated 144 volunteer hours since 9th grade, earned through work with the American Cancer Society and Assisting with the care of Special Needs Children to name a few. Additionally, as Key Club President, Tanmay oversees much of Wiregrass’s volunteering through joint work with FBLA, HOSA, and the National Honor Society, all of which he is a member of. Together these 4 clubs are made of 600/2300 students, roughly 1⁄4 of the school.
Tanmay is a member of Wiregrass’s CNA nursing program. Within this program, he misses school days to assist in patient care at hospitals such as Advent Health. Here he works under nurses to assist with family patient care such as changing bed sheets and greeting patients. Tanmay helps his medical teacher Mrs. Fiske with moving classroom supplies and transporting materials. Tanmay also assists and is a member of the AP Research program in his school.
