Anclote High School
Joshua has taken Cambridge and Dual Enrollment courses, surpassing the expectations for students in his grade level. He is currently ranked in the top 3% of Pasco School district’s graduating class and will have earned 40 college credits upon graduation. Joshua has met the Cambridge Diploma requirements, passing 7 college-level exams over 3 years, allowing him to be recognized as a Cambridge Scholar with Merit.
Joshua serves as the Cadet Command Sergeant Major (CSM) within JROTC. He has also been commander of the JROTC drill team for the last three years and has led the JROTC Raiders team. Joshua has also demonstrated his leadership as the 11th Grade Chairman for our Student Advisory Committee (SAC). Additionally, Joshua was selected to participate in the Boys State program to learn about the political process, electing officials, and running a mock government.
Joshua has been an exemplary volunteer accumulating over 200 hours of service through various initiatives through JROTC. He specifically has assisted with setting up inflatables for the Tampa Pediatric Cancer holiday party and actively participated in constructing a memorial for a beloved Anclote High School staff member. Joshua received the Anne Frank Humanitarian Award last year from The Florida Holocaust Museum which recognizes the outstanding humanitarian efforts made by local high school juniors.
Joshua has been dedicated to giving back to others through mentoring students at Paul R Smith Middle School and goes above and beyond to help his school and community. Outside of the school environment, Joshua has displayed a strong work ethic by successfully managing a personal dog-sitting business and a landscaping business. Furthermore, his employment at Coach Carlson's Field of Dreams highlights his ability to balance academic responsibilities with real-world work experience.
