Zephyrhills High School
Alyssa has a 3.97 weighted GPA (3.67 unweighted) and is currently ranked #39 out of 398 in her class rank. Alyssa has successfully completed honors, advanced placement, and Dual Enrollment college classes throughout her academic history. In addition, she completed a variety of Career Technical Education classes including multimedia journalism, medical skills, and business. Alyssa's hard work academically resulted in National Honor Society membership, scholarships, industry certifications and college credits.
Alyssa is a well rounded leader as evidenced by her involvement in Pasco County Student Congress, HOBY Youth Leadership, and a Student Council representative. She has also been employed as the ZHS BCE front office student during her junior and senior years. Her responsibilities included multiple administrative tasks such as answering phones, preparing mailings, scheduling meetings, giving tours to new students, organizing the office, and communicating important messages to the students and faculty.
Alyssa is heavily involved in volunteer work and community service with well over 100 hours logged so far. She assisted with multiple events at nearby elementary schools (book fairs, angel tree, trunk or treat), helped with ZHS schoolwide clean-up events, volunteered in concessions at sports events, assisted during ZHS Title 1 Family Resource Nights, and helped run the Special Olympics. Alyssa has also tutored underclassmen and assisted her peers with Dual Enrollment registration.
Alyssa's citizenship is evidenced by her commitment to school improvement, service to her peers and community, and her desire to be the best representative of ZHS that she can be. She is loyal, friendly, intelligent, reliable, and respectful. She will stop and help anyone with anything that is needed and always puts others first. Alyssa also advocates for better school-wide processes and ways to help students be more successful.
