Your penny at work
PENNY FOR PASCO - HELPING PASCO STUDENTS SINCE 2005

On November 8, 2022, Pasco County voters will vote on Penny for Pasco, a referendum to maintain our county sales tax at the current rate. The Penny for Pasco initiative helps our school district pay for school renovations and brand-new schools in high-growth areas, as well as funding school safety improvements and athletic facilities upgrades. The funds also helps the county keep up with growth, by improving roads and adding sidewalks, as well as supporting first responders with life-saving equipment.

Penny for Pasco was first approved by Pasco County voters in 2004, and it has been instrumental in improving the quality of public education and the quality of life in Pasco County ever since.

Recent projects funded by the penny tax include total renovations to several schools, including Land O’ Lakes High School, Zephyrhills High School, and Hudson Primary Academy (formerly Northwest Elementary).

New schools have been constructed, significant capital improvements were made, and in 2017, Pasco County Schools purchased a fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) school buses – all using funds provided by Penny for Pasco.

If Pasco County renews Penny for Pasco on November 8, Pasco County Schools has detailed plans to continue improving existing schools, enhancing school safety, and building new, innovative campuses across Pasco County.
