PREPARING FOR STATE TESTING

All state tests are offered in a computer-based format unless the test-taker has a valid IEP/504 plan stating that the test-taker must take a paper-based assessment.  To prepare for online testing, test-takers are required to complete an online practice test.  This will allow the test-taker to become familiar with the layout and item types of the assessments.  The online tests can be accessed by clicking HERE.

Paper practice tests and sample items can be found on the Department of Education's Florida Statewide Assessments Portal.  Choose the test and then click on the Students & Families tile.

ARRIVING TO TAKE THE TEST

All test-takers should arrive 15 minutes prior to the previously arranged testing time. As visitors on campus and to verify the test-takers identity for testing, all test-takers must be prepared to present one of the following proofs of identity on the day of testing:

  • School-issued photo ID

  • City/state/federal-issued photo ID (a Florida-issued photo ID can be purchased at a local branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles)

Test-takers are NOT permitted to have access to any electronic devices (cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, etc.) during testing.  If a test-taker is found to have an electronic device while the test session is still open (even if they have submitted their own test), the test-taker's test will be invalidated.

Test-takers may not use any electronic device (including the computer) after their test is submitted until the test-taker is physically released from the test session.

Test-takers are required to provide their own transportation to and from the testing site.

If a test-taker shows up at a school without completing the registration process or without a testing appointment, the test-taker will not be tested.

AFTER TESTING

Test-takers may access the results of their test usually within 24-48 hours of taking the test. Note that during the first week of a test window the state will be performing a system validation.  After that first week, scores will be released.

To access the results, go the FDOE Family Portal. An access code will be sent with the testing registration confirmation email.
