Florida Seal of Fine Arts

New in 2024-2025! 

The Florida Seal of Fine Arts Program was established within the Department of Education which recognizes high school graduates who have dedicated a significant portion of their high school journey to the study and pursuit of excellence in their fine arts field. This rule establishes criteria to recognize high school graduates who have met exemplary benchmarks in fine arts coursework and thus earning the Florida Seal of Fine Arts to be added to their diploma. This prestigious designation will be noted in the students official high school transcript. 

  • Must successfully be awarded a standard high school diploma.
  • Receive an “A” or higher for three years in high school fine arts courses in music, dance, theatre, or visual arts. 

Additionally, must complete and have documentation for at least 2 of the 5 criteria listed below.

  1. Successfully completes a fine arts International Baccalaureate, advanced placement, dual enrollment or honors course in the same subject as the 3 year long courses above with a grade of “B” or higher.
  2. Participates in a district or statewide organization’s juried event as a selected student participant for 2 or more years.
  3. Records at least 25 volunteer hours of arts-related community service in his or her community and presents a comprehensive presentation on his or her experiences.
  4. Submits a portfolio that demonstrates the student is an exemplary practitioner of fine arts to be scored using the state Portfolio Rubric. See Florida Seal of Fine Arts Portfolio Rubric Form FA-2 for all of the requirements and must earn a minimum score of 18. 
  5. Receives district, state or national recognition for the creation and submission of an original work of art. The term “work of art” means a musical or theatrical composition, visual artwork, or choreographed routine or performance.

Submission Process for Seal of Fine Arts

Seniors are encouraged to download the Florida Seal of Fine Arts Application form and FA-2 Portfolio Rubric, if applicable, and FA-4 Volunteer Tracking Sheet, if applicable, as soon as possible. The application submission window for the Seal of Fine Arts will be open from January 6 - March 10, 2025.

  2. Fill out the application & attach all supporting documentation. 
  3. Information on who to submit the application and all supporting documentation to will be coming soon.

The deadline for submitting your application for the Florida Seal of Fine Arts is March 10, 2025.
