What is Pack-A-Sac andThomas Promise?

The Pack-A-Sac and Thomas Promise program is a school-based initiative designed to address chronic hunger among school-age children. The program aims to provide food for children who chronically hungry, ensuring they have enough to eat over the weekends and during extended breaks. Each sack contains 10-12 different kid-friendly food items that require no preparation, making it easy for children to "open and eat". The program feeds over 1,500 children every weekend across 38 different schools in Pasco County. The program is supported by local churches, businesses, and organizations that adopt schools and provide the necessary food supplies. This initiative helps improve children's concentration, behavior, and overall health by ensuring they do not go hungry when they are away from school.
