JOB GOAL

This employee is responsible for repairing and installing all types of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Installing, repairing, and servicing all types of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
  2. Setting up and maintaining preventive maintenance programs on all refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
  3. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of tools and materials used in the trade.
  • Ability to detect and repair faulty equipment.
  • Functional literacy.
  • Demonstrated record of safe driving.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Appropriate valid Florida driver's license for vehicle(s) driven.
  • EPA approved Universal Type Refrigeration Recovery Certificate as required by Federal Law, Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a trade school or equivalent program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
  • Experience as a skilled refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
