JOB GOAL

Responsible for building capacity and providing support for school communities that are consistent with and supportive of the District’s vision, mission, and strategic goals. This includes supporting curriculum, assessments, and instruction and aligning to policies and procedures that are implemented to meet federal, state, and local regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Support content area with all areas of assignment to ensure quality services are provided to meet student’s needs.
  2. Collaborate with District office staff and school administrators to implement innovative programs.
  3. Assist with the alignment of innovative curriculum, assessment, and instructional programs and the process for educational options with the District’s instructional priorities and goals.
  4. Collect, analyze, and interpret student achievement data to maximize resources available to schools.
  5. Promote successful practices throughout the District by identifying and acknowledging those using innovative instructional strategies and digital tools and sharing those practices with others.
  6. Ensure a link between professional development and a change in practice with ongoing monitoring, including observation and feedback.
  7. Assist with the development of a comprehensive plan for continued program improvement including program review, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation in K-12 district, state and federal programs, in the assigned area(s).
  8. Assist school administrators in identifying effective research-based strategies and assist with professional development activities and data-based decision-making in the area(s) of assignment.
  9. Assist with preparation and monitoring all required reports for federal, state, and District reporting.
  10. Assist with monitoring and interpreting laws, regulations, and policies, as well as trends and best practices.
  11. Utilize data-driven decision-making to problem-solve strengths and needs in order to plan for supports around school-wide Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), attendance and school engagement, and needs related to school health.
  12. Foster a culture of high expectations for all students by promoting the importance of education and each student’s capacity for academic and social emotional achievements.
  13. Maintain open lines of communication with staff and parent(s)/guardian(s) regarding student progress; attend school or District meetings as required to support staff learning and continuous improvement; share information or provide training as needed.
  14. Follow District policies and procedures concerning education, health, safety, equipment, personal information, and the wellbeing of staff and students.
  15. Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner.
  16. Assist with publicizing and promoting programs through the development and distribution of written materials and presentations to school groups.
  17. Develop and maintain working relationships with community agencies.
  18. Participate in school advisory, business, and community groups and activities; serve on committees and councils; and develop community partnerships to support the District’s vision, mission, goals, and strategic priorities.
  19. Respond quickly to emergency situations and serve as a District representative at emergency shelters as determined by the Superintendent.
  20. Perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of current trends, research, and issues related to education
  • Knowledge of related federal, state, and local rules, regulations, statues, and policies
  • Ability to analyze data and use data-driven decision making to implement effective programs
  • Ability to read and interpret journals, articles, research studies, Florida statutes, state Board rules, and school Board policies
  • Knowledge of assessment systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based technologies and platforms
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments in an efficient manner and within established timeframes
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, or related field that aligns with area of assignment

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • None

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, or related field that aligns with area of assignment
  • Five years’ experience serving in a school environment in an instructional, coaching or administrative role
  • Certification in Educational Leadership, School Principal, Professional School Principal, or equivalent leadership training, licensure, or experience
  • Certification or licensure that aligns with the area of assignment or equivalent leadership training, licensure, or experience
  • Training or experience in administration of instructional or instructional support programs
  • Prior experience coaching, mentoring, and/or in a supervisory role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and / or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as Light Work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, and hear; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
